Wireless:
Homes that have not been wired for an alarm system during construction will need a wireless system. The wireless "Lynx" system is essentially the same system as the Honeywell "Vista" except that it is completely wireless. The system's brain/ touch pad will be connected to a power outlet while all other sensors will be battery operated. Door/ Window sensor batteries last an average of 5 years. Many options including but not limited to glass break, smoke/ carbon monoxide detectors, key remotes etc are available for the complete customization of you alarm system. Pre Wired: Homes that have existing wiring for an alarm system are said to be "pre- wired". Pre- wire installations come in many shapes and sizes or in other words, they vary drastically one from another. With thousands of different builders and subcontractors undertaking security wiring jobs, this is to be expected. Honeywell has solved the otherwise likely problem of incomplete wiring by offering many options to complete an inadequate/ faulty wired system by the addition of (RF keypads (Radio Frequency) allowing the addition of wireless equipment in place of equipment that should have been wired for during the initial security wiring installation. Many times in an attempt to cut costs builders/ sub contractors will skip the wiring of important and often essential security components including but not limited to wired windows, motions, smoke/ heat detectors. In the event that any of these features are omitted from the wiring of the home, wireless detectors can be added instead completing the wired system with the addition of an RF Honeywell keypad. .
Extras: We offer free protective yard signs and stickers with every alarm installed. Yard signs and stickers help to warn potential intruders that your home has a monitored alarm system. Statistically, homes that have a monitored home security system are 4 times less likely to be broken into than homes without a monitored system. The chances are also more likely for a home with an alarm but without a sign and stickers to be broken into than a monitored home protected by a yard sign and stickers on the windows.
